October 2007 Meeting Minutes

Buisness:

COHD President Barry Eckert called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. with a welcome and introductions.

Minutes were distributed by Secretary Ruth Welborn and were approved as distributed.

Greg Frazer presented the Treasurer’s Report and after close review the report was accepted.

Gary Neiman made a motion which was amended and seconded by Susan Hanrahan.

Motion: $2000 from COHD funds will be given annually to the ASAHP’s Scholarship of Excellence with other regional dean groups to be challenged to contribute. Motion passed.

The 2007 Summer Meeting was discussed. 15-20 individuals attended the meeting in Philadelphia. The presentation on clinical doctorates presented by Drs. Shelley Conroy and Ron Bulbulian was of great interest.

The 2008 Summer Meeting was discussed to include:

  • Site – Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Randy Lambrecht from University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee will check with Marquette University to co-host the summer meeting.
  • Date – Two days during the week of July 21-25, 2008.
  • Suggested Topics - What is Happening on Campuses, Creation of Organizational Units (Colleges, Schools, Departments, Programs), Strategies to Achieve Goals, Accreditation Issues.

Barry asked that topic suggestions be sent to him.

Attendees – COHD and NERDS.

Recognition of three (3) COHDs, Greg Frazer, Randy Lambrecht and Gary Neiman, selected by ASAHP as Fellows.
