Business:
The Meeting was called to order by President Barry Eckert at 7:30 a.m. Attendees were welcomed and introductions were made.
Minutes of the October 20, 2016 meeting in New Orleans were reviewed, corrected, and approved.
Corrections included the spelling of Betsey Smith and San Francisco.
Treasurer Greg Frazer provided a report of the COHD financial status. As of October 11, 2017 the checking balance is $26,098.06. Motion was made to donate $2000 to ASAHP’s scholarship fund. Motion by Ken Johnson, second by Pat Walker. Motion passed. Treasurer reminded the attendees dues notices will be sent out in January 2018. Annual dues are $175.
President Eckert’s Report:
The spring meeting conducted in Savannah, Georgia was well attended. Topics covered included: IPE, Healthcare Workforce Needs; Healthcare Finances; and Faculty Mentoring.
The COHD website has been redesigned and will go live in a couple of weeks. Attendees were encouraged to check their university profile and make corrections. The website will have a place for meeting minutes and presentations made at the COHD meetings.
New Business:
President Eckert asked for suggestions for the 2018 spring meeting dates, places, and meeting format. He will send using Doodle a request for suggested dates and places. It was consensus the format should continue to feature small group discussions. Suggested sites at the meeting included: Savannah, Sarasota, San Francisco, San Diego, Ashville, Williamsburg, Lake Tahoe.
According to the COHD’s Bylaws, new officers need to be elected. The following names for officers were presented: President – Ken Johnson, Vice-President – Kim Halula, Secretary – Betsey Smith,
Treasurer – Patricia (Pat) Walker. Motion was made by Susan Hanrahan, second by Brian Schulman. Motion passed. Congratulations were extended to the new officers.
